The events at Sandy Hook Elementary School last Friday have hit this nation, and the world at large at such deep levels that action is being demanded in ways that no one has seen before. And we are indeed at a crossroads.

..

Humanity’s Mama Lion (and Father) has awakened…
There are many goodhearted people on this Earth…people who want the world to be a better and safer place for their children, families and communities…a world where we needn’t be afraid to walk out our front door, go to the mall or to drop our children off at school. And these goodhearted people are the ones who have had enough. This collective is the most powerful on Earth—one that is a force stronger than any other, for protecting our children is so primal and innate that it cannot be ignored or denied.

The Astrological Influences
Pluto in Capricorn has been squaring Uranus in Aries this year and there are many ways that this rare astrological event has been dramatically impacting our world. (This powerful aspect will continue for two more years.) The last time these two planets connected in a similar fashion was in the 1960’s. That should give you an idea of the power of this combo to upset the norm and challenge the status quo.

Let’s look at how this celestial energy relates to the times we are in and to this tragic event in particular…

Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008 until 2023. Its influence here is all about delving into and revealing the secretive and/or subversive entities that run us all—specifically corporate and political powers with agendas that run so deep into the fabric of our culture that it can seem virtually impossible to go up against it. Power that has gone unchecked, destroyed our rights to privacy and is insatiable in its greed and desire to control our lives. For the most part, it has seemed that nothing the individual could do to challenge this power would make any difference.

And then Uranus entered Aries in May of 2010 (until 2019) and ignited a spark that has set us in new directions. Its influence here is about individual freedom in all its forms. And as it moved closer to the square to Pluto this year, creating a tension that was palatable (as seen in the election this Fall), it became clear that a clash between the individual and the corporate machine (though it could be called by many names) was heating up.

Many individuals have been unfairly treated (and even ignored) in the recent past as they have dealt with challenges in the housing/foreclose market, jobs and the economy in general. Banks, corporations, Wall Street and Congress have all been targeted as culprits, as transparency is an expression of the Uranus-Pluto square. And yes, some progress has been made…but truth be told, not a lot for it still seemed as though these entities were basically invincible and not being held accountable and all said, still ruled the day.

It would seem that it has taken the innocence of children taken violently and too soon to awaken a power far greater than that of politicians and the lobbies that have power over them…than the corporations and the CEOs that run them.

The NRA is a prime example and considered to be one of the most powerful lobbies in Congress, and perhaps the most powerful. It has stopped or watered down dozens of laws, national and state, that would thwart the sale of the thousands of guns that have, at times, been used against people. But now I’m sure they must know that their time is at hand. A time when they, too, must yield to a power on Earth greater than even them, “The Mama Lion”…s/he who protects our future as mothers, fathers, grandparents, teachers and others.

On the morning of the Sandy Hook event the Moon was conjunct Pluto. The Moon rules home, family, mothers and children. It seemed to underscore the ultimate destiny of this event and its power to change the influence of the corporate agenda forever, through the simple yet fierce love we have for our children, and our responsibility to them.

Going Forward
There are many other astrological aspects related to the dynamics of this tragic event—far too many to mention here. Yet these will continue to impact the long-range influence of Sandy Hook and challenge the powerful entities that make so many decisions that impact each of us in so many ways.

The Mama Lion in each of us must continue to ask, even demand, that the greater protection of our children, our selves and our communities be the #1 agenda going forward…it must be the fork at this crossroad that is taken at this time…no matter the cost.

How the next 4 years will play out remains to be seen, but I do feel a corner has been turned. Another key time to watch is around the 13th-14th of December when Mercury hits the shadow point of this retrograde. Basically, the shadow point is when a planet comes to the same place in the sky it was when it stationed retrograde, in this case 4 degrees Sagittarius. It will be also be returning to Scorpio here in a few days (11/13) and then station direct on the 26th, re-entering Sagittarius on 12/10 and then, come back to where it is now, at the station point. Got all that? (More on Mercury hitting the shadow point in December AstroCurrents.)

Mercury stationing retrograde in Sagittarius is a key to why the elections went the way they did. Sagittarius is the sign of tolerance and freedom and open-mindedness. And it would seem that these are qualities that the majority of voters were hoping for when they filled out their ballot. Sagittarius always seeks the higher ground, and then views the landscape from there. It asks us to do the same…to look beyond the current circumstances and see what is possible. The term “possibility thinking” fits this sign perfectly.

I can see now how Mercury stationing in Sagittarius on the day of the election was a chance to see that these are possible realities. How appropriate as we come more fully into the Age of Light! To see what is possible and to not look (or go) back, but to move into a new way of seeing things. One that seeks to be founded on unity, not division. Do I think Obama is the PERFECT president to do all this? I don’t know that for certain…but “fate” has chosen him and so I will go with that! I will say that I do feel he was the best option available.

The Age of Light Is Upon Us

As I explain in Zodiac of Light, we are moving into an area of our galaxy that will allow Earth to begin to receive greater Light from the Great Central Sun–the source of the Divine Light that sustains all life (that’s the simple version). This Light is revealing what has been hidden, unseen or concealed. The outer planets are playing key parts as well:

• Pluto in Capricorn is tearing down the outdated foundation and structures of the old age.
• Uranus in Aries is bringing forth bold, new options while increasing enthusiasm.
• Neptune in Pisces is waiting in the silence to show us the path to our Divine natures and true Source.

There is lots more to come in this transition from the old age to the new one. But the planets are aligned to help make it all happen. Our part is to awaken to the reality of what is happening…and to welcome the Light as it enters our realm.

What happened in the election is, I feel, visible demonstration that the Shift to the Age of Light is on…Hallelujah!

2-You are trying to go forward when you may well be needing to look back (see below.)

Every astrological event has a purpose and is by design able to help us in some way. We just need to attune to the energies present with awareness as to what it is about.

Here are some things to do while Mercury is retrograde:

1. Rethink your plans
2. Reconsider your options
3. Reconnect with someone from your past
4. Regroup at a core level
5. Revisit past ideas
6. Recommit to your New Year’s resolutions
7. Revamp your mission statement
8. Rewrite your resume or bio
9. Redo your budget
10. Reinvent yourself in some way

The even rarer Transit of Venus occurs on Tuesday, June 5th at 6 pm (PDT). Many feel this is a most mystical influence, one that can connect your mind with your heart in new, profound ways. Again, more emphasis on Gemini (it is occurring in Gemini) and your overall mental health and frame of mind.

To attune to these mystical energies in a conscious way, during the event, open your mind to receive the compassion deep within your heart, and open your heart to receive the wisdom of your mind. Once they are linked more directly, you will be better able to move forward in your life with your mind and heart (your thoughts and feelings) in sync.

Many will be able to view it…be sure to sure the right solar eye glasses or gear when you do! NOTE: If you were able to watch the May20th Solar Eclipse, whatever you used to view that will also work for the Transit of Venus

This event will not happen again in your lifetime (next time is 2117)!

Post Eclipse Day! This eclipse initiated a new cycle and opened a portal between the lower and higher mind which will allow new insights, ideas and perspectives to come through. To avail yourself of these it is important to take note of what presents it self over the next 4 weeks. What is occurring to you? What new ideas are you getting? Do you have new understandings? Are solutions to challenges appearing…perhaps from unusual sources? Be attentive to such things!! Gifts from the Higher Mind are sure to be everywhere. And the more you look for and embrace them, the more the pathway between the lower and the higher mind will be forged.
