New Moon & Venus

We are in the midst of  most magical and mystical time. And since I am really feeling these energies quite strongly myself I thought others may be as well and would like to know what is going on!

The three days prior to each New Moon are called the Balsamic Moon phase, and since the New Moon is on Monday, we are in this phase all weekend.

Every year there are 13 Balsamic Moon phases and each have their own frequency, depending upon the zodiac sign it is occurring in. This is the Piscean NM and of all the Balsamic Moon phases, this is the most spiritual, mysterious and mystical.

So what can you expect?
Each New Moon marks the entry into a new lunar cycle. It is a call to begin some aspect of our life anew and the few days around each New Moon is the perfect time of month to plant seeds for those things you intend to manifest during the next 4 weeks. This could include such things as making plans, starting projects, initiating contacts, etc.

The 3 days prior to each New Moon, when we are in the Balsamic Moon Phase (also known as the Dark of the Moon), is the most spiritual 3 days of the 28-day lunar cycle. If we were to think of it in terms of a day, it would equate to the few hours before dawn.

This phase is when “the veils are thinnest” between the lower and higher realms, between our consciousness and our Soul. And it is the time to plant the seeds of those things we aspire to on the inner as we have “better” access to that part of ourselves where the creation process originates.

During this most etheric time of the month, there are some things you may be noticing:

Mentally it may be difficult to stay focused. It is only too easy to space out and go off on tangents at this time. Clarity of intention and purpose is foggy at best. On the more positive side, you may be feeling quite inspired with lots of creative ideas coming in.
Suggestions: Your imagination may well be very active so grab those ideas out of the ethers by writing them down, but plan to implement them later. Don’t try to do those tasks that require too much mental activity. To use these creative energies, don’t force it but rather stay in the flow, allowing your intuition to guide you where it wants to go.

Emotionally you may be feeling ultra sensitive, moody or nostalgic. Loud noises or music may trigger an instant reaction. You may feel confused or disoriented.
Suggestions: Try to avoid those things that make you jumpy or that feel uncomfortable. Create as mellow environment as possible. Know that deception and illusion are stronger than usual now, so don’t assume that everything you see or hear is real or true! The more melodramatic it is, the more of a chance it is not based in reality.

Physically you may be more tired than usual and just need some extra rest or sleep. You may be feeling ungrounded or off center, even a bit dizzy or woozy. If you are extra sensitive to these energies, you may be feeling a bit panicky or unsettled.
Suggestions: Do those things you know you should…no extremes in diet or regimes, move a little slower, be gentle with yourself and stay present. Grounding exercises such as walking, eating root crops or even hugging a tree can help a lot!

Spiritually, as I mentioned, this is a very important Balsamic Moon. Perhaps you are feeling this? If you are someone who is sensitive to such things, the channels that bring forth the Light from the higher realms are open in a way which can allow you to sense the inner worlds more directly. The energy of what is most sacred, Spirit manifesting in Matter, can perhaps be seen, felt or better understood.

Some ideas about how to best work with and positively avail yourself to these energies:

• Surrender by not needing to know what it means to you at this time.
• Seek only to be in its presence, again not needing to know what it is revealing to you.
• Ask for renewal, for courage, for clarity to come to you in the days and weeks to come.
• Be patient and ask for guidance.
• Pay extra attention to nuances and subtle shifts of energy.
• Place yourself in the Light as you fall asleep as much can be done during the sleep state.
• And then notice how you feel when you awake, taking note of your dreams.

Some other things to consider:

• These subtle energies provide openings for, and precursors to, genuine renewal and even initiatory experiences to take place at the Spring equinox, on both inner and outer levels.
• There is an underlying energy that is present now as we approach this most dynamic and interesting Pisces New Moon on Monday. The Light that is coming in is direct and potent now. If you are sensitive to such currents, you may be feeling this quite powerfully.
• This New Moon will also be conjunct Mercury and Uranus, which is most rare. Expect to feel uplifted as well as inspired in most surprising and unusual ways. Independence and freedom are themes now. From what? Perhaps habits, beliefs, patterns or something else.

Courage is available now through Mars. Moving through fear and resistance by finding that courage can happen at this time. It is a unique opportunity to move out of fear or inertia. Ask for guidance as during this time especially, it is nearer than you may think, as this is the time of year that the “Veils are thin”.

Spring holds the promise of renewal clearly within your grasp this year, but first, you must find and then encourage the Spark of your own Divine and unique Self.

This week and next there are some wonderful and inspiring aspects occurring in the skies, which I wrote about in AstroCurrents. I state that these most benevolent of energies are indications that there will a sense of exuberance and excitement and “global well-being” as the prevailing feelings around these Olympic games.

And today, before they even lite the torch, the death of a luger from Georgia, Nodar Kumaritashvili, occurs. I was shocked as I’m sure many were. What an unbelievable tragedy, “casting a shadow” over the games, as the Olympic president, Jacques Rogge said, while holding back tears.

It got me to (re)thinking how these wonderful celestial energies are impacting things after all. So I looked deeper at the astrology of the Olympics, and did a little investigating as to when Vanouver was awarded the games, and it appears that is was on July 2, 2003. I checked out that chart and it didn’t take much to see what was “interfering with” and impacting the benevolent energies of this week.

Saturn was at 3 degrees of Cancer in that chart and that exact degree is under extremely stressful celestial forces just now, from both transiting Saturn and Pluto. These energies can generate tensions, difficulties and intensity, some that lie under the surface or was perhaps overlooked. They can “create” tragic events that can result in grief and loss.

If the news is getting it right, there are other underlying issues plaguing the games. Funding was insufficient, national favoritism seems to playing a part (which is bringing to the surface such things from games past) and more.

But here’s the thing. There really are some wonderful celestial energies happening during the two weeks of these games. Energies that can help to unite and inspire our troubled and disconnected world. And it is my hope, and feeling, that these will play a more significant role as the days go on, bringing to Light feelings of Unity and Peace and Hope.

Perhaps the tragedy that occurred today, the day of the Opening Ceremonies, will impact how we all feel about these games. And will, hopefully, in some way we can’t see now, bring us closer to our Global Family.

I like to think so.

Some possibilities now are:

• Feeling overly dramatic and extra emotional.
• Letting your pride get in the way and thus taking things too personally.
• Being overly confident, and perhaps taking on more than you really do want to.
• Seeking out pleasure in ways that aren’t really good for you.

What to do with all this energy:

• Seek out ways to creatively express yourself~paint, draw, take some photos, write.
• Have some fun~dance, sing, play, move.
• Take pride in what you do, without getting your ego too involved.
• Be with those you love.
• Express your caring and passion and Self in some way.

Because Mars is involved in the Full Moon mix, things can happen quickly, as it is only too easy to be impulsive. This can be good or not so good.
Remember to:

• Slow down.
• Don’t be reactive.
• Think before plowing ahead. Consider: Is this in my best interest??

It is quite likely you will be feeling an intensity of energy in the air as we approach the weekend.

Hi. So many of you responded to the photo in the above post I thought I would post a couple more. These are all within 2 blocks of my house, so I consider myself VERY fortunate to not have such things happen to us.

Also, several of you have wondered where I am. I live in Mt. Shasta CA, at the base of Mt. Shasta, a 14,000+ mountain. The town is on highway 5, about one hour south of the Oregon border.

When the NY starts with Mercury retrograde (as it did this year)…

it feels as though there is so much to finish up, clean out and catch up on that you can’t get to those “new” items on your list quite yet. This could include such things as starting resolutions and setting your goals for the year.

And so, the combo this Thursday and Friday (the 14th and 15th) is perfect for getting into 2010 with your new goals and resolutions in tact.

In the meantime, continue checking those items off your list so you’ll be ready to be in sync with the “2nd” New Year.
