Uranus Station ~ Lunar Eclipse: Messages in the Chaos?

Uranus is stationing direct now at 0°38′ Aries. During the days (and even weeks) surrounding this event the energy will be interesting, dynamic and maybe even feel somewhat strange. While Uranus does station direct once every year, doing so at the first degree of Aries is a once in a lifetime event (less, actually). This is a powerful indication that new beginnings are at hand and that change is in the air.

The impact of this event is made all the more potent by the Lunar Eclipse that is also occurring this weekend. Insights and messages offering guidance are present everywhere–keep on the look out for them! New directions, understandings and pathways are now ready to reveal themselves.

Here are some things you may notice:

Your basic energy may be erratic, fluctuating from one extreme to another for the next few weeks.
Feeling either wired and hyper or the other end of the spectrum as though you are stuck and going nowhere. Both are possible.
You could feel nervous, anxious or edgy, jumping when the phone rings.
Feeling impatient, as though things just can’t happen fast enough.
You may have sudden bursts of energy, either physical or mental.
You may feel scattered and ungrounded, finding it hard to focus.
Some may feel quite psychic and intuitive as Uranus can increase these frequencies.
Difficulty sleeping or relaxing as your mind is very active may occur.

The higher frequencies will express in these ways, which you may also notice:

Openings to higher truths, bringing clarity and revealing new avenues and directions.
Clever, even brilliant, ideas and inspired thoughts can come out of nowhere and from unusual and unexpected sources.
Solutions that you had not thought of before can appear during this time.
Take special note of those that are original and fresh, things you have never seen or thought of before.
All this can bring you greater clarity and fresh, new perspectives.

Keep in mind that events may occur during this time that may make no sense now or that may seem insignificant. Yet something may happen now that will play a key role in your life down the road. Hence, anything that seems a bit odd or unusual, or beyond “coincidence” or if you get an interesting idea in a flash of insight or perhaps in a dream, make a note of it! You may want to refer to it later.

Intense Energies A Foot

Every so often there is a combo of astrological events that creates so much tension it affects many areas of life and lots of people. We are under one of these now. Can you feel it? It feels as though a spark could ignite a blaze in an instant and things could escalate on a dime.

Riots in London, economic melt downs right and left and today was the most powerful Sun flare in years (an X-7) to add yet more intensity to the air.

That Cardinal Cross is back!

So what is happening? Basically Pluto in Capricorn, Mars in Cancer, Uranus in Aries and Saturn in Libra are forming a Cardinal cross. Yes…it is indeed back (this was very potent during the Summer of 2010). AND right now, and for the next 24 hours, the Moon is also in Capricorn, adding a strong emotional element to the mix.

These combined impact the most fundamental areas of our life. Work, finances, relationships and home. Our sense of security and trust in the future is challenged as many strive to find answers to the challenges they face.

But Wait ~ There’s More!

Further, Mercury is Retrograde while opposing Neptune. This can confuse things, making it extra difficult to gain clarity and direction. Are we hearing the whole truth, you may be wondering under this influence as deception and the “spin doctors” are most prevalent now. BE SURE to check and re-check your plans and arrangements now!

And then there’s the Full Moon, too!

Saturday (8/13) is the Full Moon which also creates a build up of energies. This Full Moon is in Aquarius, which creates a feeling that what is happening “in the World” is impacting you personally. The events that are occurring on a global level are of a far-reaching magnitude and this is quite apparent now. Even though things are happening externally that impact you and that seem outside your control, how your respond is up to you. This is a key to moving through these times with Grace.

What to Expect ~ What to Do ~ Where’s the Hope?

What to Expect and might be feeling:

A sense of urgency. The energy feels odd at times and erratic.
Tense and irritable.
Anxious, worried, fearful or helpless to effect change in your life.
Off center or ungrounded.
Angry or frustrated.

What you can do:

Slow down. Especially if you are about to react to something.
Do things that keep you grounded: walk, do yoga, hug a tree!
Don’t add too much to your plate and simplify where you can.
Use common sense. Elaborate schemes are not likely to work so well these days.
Don’t hurry around. Deep breaths.
Don’t try to figure everything out at once. Answers will come when they are meant to.
Remember that you are doing the best you can.
Acknowledge that yes, change is in the air. But it may be exactly what is needed now. Trust.
Ask your Guides to raise your frequency so that you may rise above the turmoil and fear.
Ask your Guardian Angels to keep your protected from negativity, fear and panic that is in the collective. These do NOT have to be in your space.
Help others by being available, kind and tolerant.

Where’s the Hope:

These are challenging and trying times. Be honest with yourself about this. Yet it is by Cosmic design and you signed up to be here now. Get in touch with the part of you that consented to this and you will find the strength and courage you seek.
Know that you have all the resources and help available to you that you need.
There is assistance and hope to be found. Keep looking.
You are a powerful being with unique gifts ready to come forth and be shared.

Churnings Deep Within

Mars, Mercury and Pluto are together in Capricorn now, generating a most dynamic and powerful force. You can expect to feel churnings at gut levels for awhile. What is moving deep within? What is wanting to emerge in your life? These are up now.

In the Tarot, the Tower (XVI) is a perfect card depicting the current energies. We all have a structure for our life, which is the Tower in this image. Many things built this structure–believes, experiences, decisions, etc. Yet there are times the structure becomes out-dated in some way, and actually begins to confine us instead of support us.

Know that new avenues for Light are created from Tower-like experiences.

The Universal energies, here shown as the lightening, rain and wind, come and threaten the existing Tower, i.e. structure. While there is much here to understand, the most important thing to remember is that it is indeed necessary at times to allow the old to crumble, as this creates an opening to the next phase.

I love that the next card in the sequence of the Tarot is the Star (XVII)–enlightenment and insight from above. Yet how can this enlightenment “get in” if we block it by remaining “safe” within our Tower?

Back to the current Astrological influence: With Mercury also retrograde, trust your instincts more than your mind. (Or at least as much as.) You know, at some level, what is going on. This happening in the sign of Capricorn indicates that the area of your life likely being impacted is foundational, basic, where you stand. Time to move? Change jobs? Break off a habit? Or a dysfunctional relationship or association?

Some questions to ask now are:

Are old forms and patterns holding me back?
Did I make decisions in the past that I am still living by, but that are now out dated and no longer server me?
Am I tending to the most basic areas of my life? Those that encourage and create new life to course through my veins?
Do I do things in a direct and decisive manner or waste time in indecision?
Do I have a Life Plan? Is it in alignment with my Soul Plan? (I will be addressing this more as the New Year approaches).

In essence, now is a time when what is REALLY going on deep within, those patterns and believes that can run the show from the unconscious, are emerging in some way or another. This can indeed be uncomfortable . . . however, it can also be revealing and ultimately show you where you are blocked.

A birth of sorts is at hand. And as with most births, it can also be painful and full of intensity. Notice the shift of the subtle inner currents. A change by mid-week in some key area is possible.

Mars Triggers Eclipse Point

You may have heard that Eclipses have a 90-day impact before and after the actual event. So what can trigger the influence during the 90-day time period? Several things, but perhaps at the top of the list is Mars. Right now, and for a couple days, Mars is at 19-20 degrees Libra which is forming an exact square to the July 11th Solar Eclipse point.

Mars is called the Great Activator and Catalyst. When Mars comes along, it can be as a sudden burst of energy appeared out of nowhere. Here is what my thesaurus says for catalyst: stimulus, stimulation, spark, sparkplug, spur, incitement, impetus.

Here are some things you might notice for a few days:

An activation of energies as something pulls you in and gets your attention.
Sparks may fly around you. This could be thrilling and interesting or unsettling.
A project needs to move forward-like now!
In fact, forward motion is a key to taping into this energy. It’s time!
You may feel anxious, as though something is going to happen but you don’t know what.
Your energy may soar.
This is a great aspect for sparking inertia or stagnation of any kind.
Do try not to get impatient or reactive. Steady does it!
Take note of what area of your life is pulling you forward into your life.

It is important to pay attention to anything that carries these vibrations as they may have at a deeper source the energies seeded by the Eclipse this Summer. Thus it’s impact on your life may be more significant than a first glance suggest.

This may be just the spark you need to get going. Take advantage of the fiery nature available now and you may be amazed at what could come of it and how far you can go with it in the next few weeks.

Beneath the Chaos

I am hearing more and more about how many are feeling everything from overwhelmed to challenged to stuck to anxious in response to the dynamic and perhaps tumultuous celestial influences these days.

And for sure, the Cosmos is playing its hands, bringing all this right before us and laying it all out on the table.

But what is happening beneath the surface of all this perhaps chaotic energy?

The four Cardinal signs, where so much is happening now, rule the most basic areas of our life. Those that we rely and count on and that essentially constitute our foundations. It is from these areas that all other aspects of our life are supported, such as creativity, friends, our spiritual journey, finances and others. And with so much activity occurring in these signs, many will be feeling change, even chaos, in their lives at these fundamental levels.

Yet beneath the chaos, there is purpose and order to all this. These powerful energies are wanting you to become more aware of how the patterns of your life, those that we often take for granted, actually determine who you are and how you live.

When celestial events as potent as these come along (which is extremely rare) they stir up the bottom of the pond, the place where we stand, and as a result we experience and see where we do actually stand in our life as it is now right before us. And yes, it can produce feelings of turmoil and anxiousness.

To the degree you have become complacent, accepting certain circumstances of your life even if they are not supporting your feeling alive is the degree these influences will be felt in challenging ways. But inherent in this very process is the wake-up call you have perhaps been needing to not only hear, but heed, to compel and inspire you to change.

Let’s take a closer look at what area of life each of the Cardinal signs rules.
As you read this over, which area lights up for you? Where are you experiencing the most challenges or turmoil? Where are you starting to really get that change simply must occur there? Where do you see that you are ready to feel more vital and alive? Are you experiencing a “rude awakening” in some specific area? Then most likely that area of your chart is getting the strongest hit from the astrological influences occurring now. Keep in mind that everyone has these four signs in theri natal chart and this means they are each influencing some area of your life.

I. The first sign of the Cardinal cross is Aries, which is where both Jupiter and Uranus are. It rules:

Your basic vitality, constitution and health.
Your sense of self and basic instincts.
How you stand up for yourself and who you are.
The ways you feel unique; your sense of individuality.
How your world views you and also your willingness to be seen.

If you are experiencing shifts in any of these areas, here are some questions to ask and things to consider:

Do you feel you are seen for who you are? Are you even willing to be seen?
Do you assert yourself in positive, effective ways?
Do you trust your instincts?
Do you take action when needed or do you hold back, even if you know you shouldn’t?

II. The second sign of the Cardinal cross is Cancer, which is where the Solar Eclipse just occurred and where the Moon will be August 6-8, which will further activate these areas in your life. It rules:

Home, family, your childhood and early influences.
Your relationship to your mother.
Where you feel you belong and your deepest longings for home.
Your children, parents and lineage.
Your spiritual genetics and the generational patterns that influence you now.
Your capacity for nurturing and to be nurtured.

If you are experiencing shifts in any of these areas, here are some questions to ask and things to consider:

Is your home life supportive and nurturing?
Do you have good relations with your mother? Children?
Do you feel you belong?
Do you feel you are clearing issues for your lineage?
Are you honoring the gifts of your lineage?

III. The third sign of the Cardinal cross is Libra, which is the sign that Saturn and Mars are in. Venus will be joining them in Libra late on August 6th. It rules:

Marriage (and divorce) and close relationships and partnerships.
Your capacity for personal relationships.
Cooperation and compromise; seeing both sides of an issue.
Your ability to live in and maintain balance in your life.
How you go about making choices and decisions.
What opposes you; open enemies and law suits.
Relationship patterns, challenges and lessons.

If you are experiencing shifts in any of these areas, here are some questions to ask and things to consider:

Is the relationship arena of your life healthy? This includes any primary or one-on-one relationship.
Do you feel supported by your personal relationships?
Do you have relationship issues on an on-going basis?
Are you able to compromise and cooperate?
Is it easy and natural for you to receive love and support? To give it?
Do you seek relationships because you don’t like being alone?
Are you indecisive and have difficulty making decisions?

IV. The fourth sign of the Cardinal cross is Capricorn, which is where Pluto is, and will be for a long time. It rules:

Career, profession and work.
Your presence and reputation out in the world.
Your relationship to your father as well as those who have authority over you in some way, including bosses, managers, etc.
What you contribute to the world.
You ability to manage your life in ways that provide you both short and long-term security.
Your plans and goals.

If you are experiencing shifts in any of these areas, here are some questions to ask and things to consider:

Do you have a sense of purpose and overall life direction?
Do you know where you are going in life?
Do you have goals that are tangible and realistic?
Is authority an issue for you?
Are you disciplined? Focused?
Do you take personal responsibility? Perhaps too much so? Do you delegate when needed?

In essence the bottom line is this: The tensions that these astrological events are creating is stirring up some basic area(s) of our life. And if you are resisting the changes and challenges being presented now, you will very likely be feeling anxious, depressed, chaotic, frustrated, bewildered, confused, etc.

My suggestion is to look beneath all that and see what your life is trying to tell you. Where is it wanting to become more vibrant and dynamic and interesting? Keep in mind that this is all being orchestrated by Divine Design. You are, indeed, being called to wake-up. And an important aspect of these energies is to see where you are stuck…where you are holding on to old patterns and ways of being. And to see and open to where it is you are ready to grow and evolve. And yes, this will likely require taking some risks and making what will feel like dramatic changes. But hey, if you keep on doing what you’ve been doing you’ll keep on getting what you’ve been getting.

What an exciting and thrilling time this is. Allow yourself to be inspired and ignited by these energies. They are a call for you to become more of who you truly are. That call is from your own higher self, by the way, which did consent to this. How are you answering?

When patterns are broken…

Well, here we are! At the much-anticipated and written about time~the peak of the Cardinal sign influence. And indeed, the energy is intense…almost palatable, but amazing, too. First and foremost, I want to suggest that you pay careful attention to your environment. Now is a time to stay clear, focused and awake. Slow down, avoid being careless or reckless and try not to be reactive. There is a lot of energy flying around…don’t get caught off guard. (That’s my Mom speech…)

Next, let’s talk about timing. The most intense time of influence for this will be now through until the 2nd week or so of August. That said, it is not “over” yet, as there are two more major aspects occurring towards the end of the month. They are: Jupiter opposing Saturn on the 16th and Saturn making it’s final square to Pluto on the 21st. More on those two later…but I will add that there are other days throughout the month of August that are involved in, thus activating, these energies as well. Such as when the Moon is in a Cardinal sign and when Mercury turns retrograde on the 20th just to name a couple.

Ok, back to now and next few days. Mars entered Libra on Thursday, the 29th and being a catalyst for change, I expect things will heat up. Mars energy thrives on motion. It wants things to move forward…to get on with it…no more hesitation. When Mars says “Now” it means NOW. Hence, what has been perhaps kept at bay will likely shift. This could be that areas of your life that have been ready to take a new direction will do so under this influence.

But there is more. Lots more. When Mars entered Libra (one of the four Cardinal signs), you could say it activated the much larger pattern involving Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter and Pluto. It brings these deeply transformative energies before us, in ways hard to ignore. Perhaps you have noticed an escalating in frequencies recently? If you have, it is likely that your own chart is being directly hit by all this. Or it may also be that you are just very sensitive to the energies around you.

There are various ways this may all be impacting you as it is greatly dependent upon what it is doing to your own chart, and what things you are facing, but here are some things to consider and to look for:

Patterns are being broken.
New ways are being presented. Tensions are rising, seeking release. The scales may be tipping during this time. Rather than try to keep things in balance I say let them tumble, at least a bit. “Breakdowns for breakthroughs” might be one way to think of things now.
Past decisions come home to roost.
Meaning the scales are seeking balance by showing you how your past actions are impacting your present. This may be a good thing or not. Flow with this as things equalize out. But do pay attention as to just where you are feeling and noticing around this.
What is for your highest good is most likely right before you.
Presented before you may be challenges as to where you seek growth and expansion and where you want things to really just remain the same. Yet within these challenges is your Path. Just keep looking. You will find it.
Look at where you are saying YES and where you are saying NO.
If your YESes are in alignment with expansion that supports your awakening and evolution then great. And if your NOes are keeping you from going forward, then it’s good to ask~why? Why are you resisting this?
Dealing with conflicts?
Inner, or outer, conflicts can become the fodder for dynamic interactions that result in solutions and new directions. Perhaps even some you have been seeking for a long time. Think of it as some area or areas that have been out of balance in your life is now seeking to come into balance–but it will require a major change in order for that to happen.
Do something different.
New cycles can only emerge if you take some form of action. If you want things to be different than they are, you must do something different to make that happen.
Follow the Cosmic bread crumbs.
These are thrilling, dynamic, exciting times. Look for where clues and indications of where you are to go next and what you are meant to do. They are everywhere now. Trust that you being guided to just where you are supposed to be going!
Think of it this way: A genuine desire for growth and expansion that is in alignment with your growth and evolution can only succeed now. But it will require change.

Divine order is wanting to be restored in some way in all our lives.

But first, it must be known where we are out of sync with it,
and that is one of the primary impacts of this time we are now in–to see how we are out of balance.

Summer of 2010 Is In Full Swing Now!

The astrological energies are just so very amazing now, and this will
definitely continue into next month.
Here’s what’s going on, and in the just next few days!

23rd-Jupiter stations retrograde at 3 degrees Aries until 11/18.
24th-Jupiter (while stationing) squares Pluto in Capricorn.
25th-Full Moon in Aquarius (at 3 degrees at 6:37 pm PDT).
26th-Saturn opposite Uranus at 0 degrees Libra/Aries.

Rather than go into each of these separately, I will write about their collective influence because they are occurring so close together. First, this is rare. It just doesn’t happen too often that four events, of such magnitude, occur in such a short time period. This will only intensify each of them. Intensify how? Let’s look at this.

There are common energetic threads running between these influences: they all can expand whatever they are influencing. So for several days this sense of expansion and feelings of things increasing beyond where they were originally will be pervasive. Things can blow up out of proportion, increase in size, develop into mountains where they were just mole hills…perhaps you get the picture.

Current Events
There are two events in the news that are concerning me now. One is that the hurricane season is upon us. Under these influences any storm that arises could expand quickly and in unexpected fashion. How this may impact the Gulf oil situation is beyond what anyone can predict, but I feel things will go in unanticipated directions.

The other situation is regarding No. Korea. The headlines say they are “ramping up” threats against the U.S. military. Sounds ominous to me. And even if nothing comes of this in the immediate future, it does concern me because of the fact that it is occurring now, under such potent events that will have long-reaching influences. This suggests that this move on No. Korea’s part is only the beginning, or continuation of, their aggressive behaviors. An acceleration of this event could happen anytime during the next three weeks as the square of Jupiter and Pluto will last that long, and the impact of this could be war-like in nature.

Another time to watch is February, 2011 when they square again. And yet another is when Jupiter stations direct in mid-November. I cannot stress enough how rare and truly volatile these astrological events can be. It is certainly a threat to take seriously.

These are not the only influences occurring during this Summer, and there are others that may well act like triggers. In general, the influence of these are that things could change quickly, and in unexpected ways. I fully expect there will be other unusual and even extraordinary current events taking place during this time. Some may even be shocking and upsetting. Those involving or impacting groups and/or large numbers of people are possible. Others may also include “natural phenomena” such as earthquakes, extreme weather or rapidly spreading fires.

So how might these be impacting us personally?
In a variety of ways. Here are some possibilities:

Whatever is taking place, it could happen quickly, as these events will move energy along at a brisk pace.
Expect the unexpected. Don’t assume you know outcomes.
While some things may come to an abrupt end, others may begin just as quickly.
Keep this in mind: things want to change. There is a shift happening and it is in full swing.
You may notice lots of coincidences and strange things occurring around you. It could get interesting.
New vitality and excitement are available. Look for the spark and follow that.
New cycles are starting, and it warrants new and fresh perspectives and approaches.
Think outside the box. In fact, think with no boxes at all. All bets are off. Anything is possible now.
All of the above could impact any area of your life: relationships, work, finances, home, etc.
Opportunities could arise out of nowhere. Pay attention to what is entering your life now.

In essence, we are being challenged to enter into new territory. To embrace change.
A good place to begin is wherever you have become stagnant.

Feeling anxious, panicky, tense, edgy or uneasy are all possible during this time.
Two primary reasons for these feelings at this time are:

We humans don’t like too much change as a rule, especially if we don’t know what it is that is coming or from which direction.
Also there is a lot of energy swirling around the ethers during this time, and if you are sensitive to picking up the emotions of others, then you will especially notice this.

Protect yourself by calling on the Light. And do those things that help you stay grounded and centered (eat well, walk, get rest, hug trees…stuff like that). This feeling of empathy will be especially strong during the time of the Full Moon, on the 25th, as this particular lunation increases the sense of unity and oneness by dissolving the boundaries that separate us.

Overall, this is an amazing time. And in case I wasn’t clear, the four events I list above are only part of what is happening. There is another “round” of events happening at the end of the month and into August. More on that later.

For now, hold on, and pay attention. In the midst of all this craziness and intensity, there may be a miracle thrown in.

The Summer of 2010~Making Some Sense of It All

In the four+ decades that I have been studying Astrology, there have only been a handful of times when the planets have aligned in as tight and intense of configuration as they are now. And as we enter the height of the potent celestial energies many have been talking and writing about, I wanted to step back a bit and look at two specific things:

One is to give a brief overview of the the astrological events that brought us to this time of powerful shifts and change.
And second, to address how these events are impacting some people in very intense and challenging ways. So if you are one of those, read on.

Many astrologers would agree that the current pattern of intensity began when Pluto entered Capricorn in January, 2008. As this began to be felt, it seemed to challenge the very ground we stood on. Things began to shift at such fundamental levels that many began thinking “will things ever be the same?”. Perhaps you were one of them?

Later in 2008, on November 4th (which just happened to be Election Day) the first of five Saturn-Uranus oppositions occurred. A rare event not to occur again for decade. Saturn and Uranus interacting in this way was sure to really shake up the status quo. There have been 3 since, with the final of the five occurring at the end of this month, on July 26th. (NOTE: I will be writing more on this final opposition in a few days). Clearly the Universe has been trying to get it through to us that things do not stay the same, and that in fact is in a constant state of flux.

In many ways, 2009 was a set-up for the rare and dynamic celestial events that would occur in 2010. As Pluto kept working away at the early degrees of Capricorn during 2009, the impact of this was felt in at least a few ways:

An Abstract~Julia Set

It was becoming clearer and clearer that issues at deeper levels were emerging. What had not been previously seen or even intentionally avoided, was now starting to surface. As a result, changes started to happen that impacted our basic sense of security and “ground of being”. What was once solid and reliable didn’t feel quite so much anymore.

As the year went on, these issues just kept being presented to our awareness in ways that were getting harder and harder to ignore. Whatever was “wrong” or unhealthy at the foundation of our life was becoming quite apparent, making it no longer possible to hide what had been hidden in the shadows.

This was happening both in our personal environments as well as the world at large. The decay, corruption, misuse of power and/or old destructive regimes were beginning to be seen more and more on the surface, as the “transparency” of corporations with hidden agendas, dogmatic-entrenched religions and out-of-touch governments became real.

The astrological events taking place this summer brings all this energy that has been building to a critical point on the path. The Lunar Eclipse of June 26th and the Solar Eclipse of July 11th were triggers. And there is more to come in the next few weeks, and in rapid succession. I will continue writing about the events still to come, but for now, I want to address the 2nd point of this article, which is the fact that this have been a very difficult time for some.

So, have things been rather intense for you?
Many are feeling the impact of these things at deep, personal levels which can be most upsetting and even traumatic. I have heard of long-term marriages falling apart, people losing jobs, health issues to be dealt with and many who are feeling off, depressed or panicky and anxious for no specific reasons.

Before I go further, a comment to those of you not feeling the turmoil or challenges that many are during this time.
If you aren’t really experiencing the intensity of these energies in ways that are difficult or uncomfortable, it may be that these events are just not hitting sensitive areas in your own chart, and thus not triggering you. It could also be that you have developed very effective coping skills over the years and that staying grounded, centered and calm during a storm is something you have learned how to do.

This said, please consider that someone around you may not be experiencing the intensity of these events with as much grace, and would really appreciate some assistance during this time. As the Great Ones said, we get by with a little help from our friends. Also keep in mind that if you are facing extremely challenging circumstances in your life, receiving help from professionals may be what is called for, and perhaps beyond the scope of the things mentioned here.

So here’s how I am seeing it: If this has been a particularly difficult time, it is very likely that Saturn is the planet you are feeling the most intensely. Yes there are other things going on, and if any of those are directly affecting your chart, you will surely be feeling them as well. Yet, Saturn is notorious for bringing us the tough lessons. I will add that if Saturn is impacting your chart, then Uranus is as well these days because of where they each are in the sky. And indeed, Uranus will bring the lessons of Saturn up in sometimes unexpected, disruptive and even shocking ways.

There are several reasons I say that Saturn may be the main culprit here, and to go too far into these are beyond the scope of this article, but let’s just say that between it’s station of earlier this year while squaring Pluto, the opposition with Uranus and now it being at the last degrees of Virgo, it appears to me as though it is running the show. We each have to come to terms with just what Saturn is about as it holds very important pieces to the whole puzzle. It is, after all, The Lord of Karma.

Saturn’s influence will be strongly felt until it reaches what is called its “shadow point”, which isn’t until the first week of September. So if you are noticing any of the things listed below, know that the lessons associated with them may not feel complete until early Fall. And if it is aspecting sensitive areas in your own chart, then this is especially true.

Saturn is the Great Teacher, and when it is pressing hard upon us, it essentially is wanting us to learn something. And that once we acknowledge this, and reflect on what it wants us to learn, it usually loosens it’s grip a bit, and a new pathway out of the dilemma is revealed.

But before that can happen, here are some ways you may be feeling Saturn, and the lessons it wants us to learn:

1. Since the end of last year (or even before), this has been a very confining time, which may have increased recently. It could seem as though there is just no way out of a difficult situation. Perhaps in some way the past has now caught up with the present and you cannot see how the future will be any different. You realize that your choices of the past are bearing fruit now, for better or worse. You feel stuck. This may be impacting your relationships, health, finances or overall attitude.

KEY: If the choices you made in the past created your life now in some way, then the choices you make now will create your future-right? Is it time to make different choices? Those more in line with your authentic self? No planetary influence can teach us the Power of Choice like Saturn~the Lord of Karma and the ruler of the Law of Cause and Effect.

2. You feel as though nothing you do produces the changes you intended. Everything is at a standstill, and it doesn’t feel good. You are running out of steam.

KEY: Yes, Saturn does want to teach us patience. And indeed, we all have had to learn a lot about this in the past several months, even couple years. A key to dealing with this is to consider the very real importance of timing. That things happen when they do…that just because WE want whatever-NOW, it may not really be the right time in the overall scheme of things for that to occur.

Further, Saturn’s lesson in this regard is not only of learning patience and timing, but also faith and stamina. Spend time reflecting on each of these qualities. Journal about how you feel about being patient, about having to wait, maybe even a long time, for something you really want. Then consider what it is to persevere, to stay with something long enough to give it a real chance to manifest in the physical realm. And indeed, developing a strong Faith is so very important.

Once Saturn changes signs and enters Libra on July 21st, energy that has been held back may well release, especially since it will be instantly impacted by Uranus, the Great Awakener, at zero degrees of Aries. I “predict” that much will be changing, and rapidly, in the weeks to come. But will it all be wine and roses? I doubt it. It could be that what it has been holding back will have its own challenges once released. Again, keep asking to learn the lessons as this is the best way I know to help mitigate the negative influences.

3. You just feel exhausted and depressed. Doors are closing, people may be leaving your life (for various reasons) and you feel like your life is passing you by. Saturn rules time and getting older and if you are feeling these things, then perhaps you are feeling grief or loss over what you will never be able to do. You may have regrets or guilt over what happened or sadness over what didn’t.

Reach up as far as you can and God will reach down the rest of the way.

KEY: I have a quote I love to remember when I feel like this: “The wheel of life turns and we must turn with it.” If we do not, we will miss what each stage of life has to offer. Saturn helps us to let go by making it clear when something is complete in our life, whether a relationship, a commitment or even a phase and this is integral to moving forward into our own future. I truly believe that our Soul has mapped out a “best case scenario” for each of the stages of our life.

Try asking your Soul: So what’s next? What do you have planned for us now? And most important, What can I do to facilitate this coming into being? And keep this in mind: there are many astrological events coming up that will bring in a new cycle. Nothing stays the same.

The two weeks following an eclipse can be quite interesting, to say the least.
While many of you many be feeling shifts, you may not be able to put your finger on it as you find yourself wondering: what just happened?
An activation of things inner and outer, known and unknown, some of which you can see and feel and some you cannot at this time, has just occurred.

Are experiencing one of the following:

If you’re asking things like “what’s next? where do I go from here?”…
it is likely you felt shifts take place internally (emotionally or mentally) but not noticing changes externally (in the physical). Keep in mind two things: One is that nothing can happen externally before it is conceived of internally. New patterns develop from the inside out.

And two, there is more to come. Meaning, we are truly in the midst of the powerful energies influencing us all this Summer (and beyond). “God gave us time so we didn’t have to do everything at once.” Be patient and be present to what is happening within.

Are you feeling anxious or uneasy but don’t know why?
This eclipse hit on a deep nerve for many, bringing up issues related to home, family and belonging. Memories got activated. Old, and new, patterns revealed.

My suggestion is to stay with the process…let things flow for a few days. Much is still ahead that will reveal the pattern wanting to present itself in your life.

This eclipse created openings for new and higher possibilities to occur in your life. New perspectives, understandings and insights will, over time, result in new experiences and directions. It is only natural for you to feel confused, perhaps a little shaky and unsure. For now, keep inquiring as to what is occurring within and be gentle with yourself and those around you. Many are feeling vulnerable and ultra sensitive.

Perhaps what was once your ceiling is now becoming your floor…though that does make the place you are standing on a bit unstable as it all sorts itself, but surely it will.

Trusting, asking for guidance and surrendering to the process are keys for sure.

Coming Home to Your Life~Solar Eclipse of 7/11/10

NOTE: In this article, I have chosen to write about the Solar Eclipse on July 11th from a personal-spiritual perspective. Please know that there are other vantages from which to view its influence and numerous ways this event will be impacting us globally, economically and politically to name a few. It may also trigger intense weather, hurricanes, earthquakes or other such events. The impacts of the Eclipse will be felt for 30-90 days.

The Solar Eclipse on July 11th is occurring in Cancer at 12:41 pm, which rules home, among other things. And while it rules our physical home, the place where we live, in a Universal sense it also rules the intended home for our own higher consciousness. This higher part of each of us has a very specific agenda in this regard and that is to descend into its home in the physical realm, specifically in our body. I feel this Solar Eclipse will create openings for this to occur.

Dane Rudhyar, considered by many to be one of the greatest astrologers of the last century, says the sign of Cancer is where “the abstract word is made flesh…the fulfillment of Spirit that must embody in earth-substance”. And that “until the ‘I Am’ urge of our true spiritual self asserts itself into form (i.e. the body) living is only dreaming.”

As I read this, and consider its meaning, I could feel my own higher Self quicken within me as the desire to give this Self a home in my own body seemed to become more real. I saw anew that the fulfillment of Life is the descent of Spirit into Matter. And for each of us this manifests as our Soul presence residing and finding its home in our body.

So what does this mean? First is to awaken to the reality that our body is our home. Then to create a place within our being to be a home that is able to carry the Light of our own Soul. This is our foundation, which we must have if we are to heal feelings of separation and isolation. In thinking about this, I wonder if how “at home” we feel, in a more general sense, is in direct relation to how fully incarnated our Soul presence is.

If you feel a strong urge to be a part of the healing that is needed on the planet now, though are not sure what that is or how to make that happen, could it be that your primary task is to welcome yourself Home?

Here is another thought that occurred to me…
Could it be that the Earth herself, being the benevolent Mother that she is, is allowing the injustices being done to her to help us awaken out of our slumber? Is the pain and frustration we feel a way to shock us into awakening so that we hear the call of our own Soul? And that this will in turn empower each of us with the resources and awareness that we must have to respond to her call for help? A friend once said to me “it is too great a task to be born unconsenting”. Did we all sign up for this? I believe we did.

Yet another thought…
In order to fulfill our purpose, must we first begin the process of healing our separation from our Soul? What could be more healing, and empowering, than that of welcoming our own Soul into our bodies, and thus into our lives?

Could it be that as we each do this to greater and greater degrees (as I am quite certain it happens in increments) that the Earth will also heal and become whole. It is said that we are One…are we all be a part of her destiny and perhaps even her Soul? And that as we each tend to our own Soul-Self becoming at home in our body, thus becoming more whole, that the Earth will as well?

These are big concepts, I know. Maybe even a little wild. Yet these are the thoughts I find myself thinking as we enter the energies of this Solar Eclipse~New Moon in Cancer. Perhaps they trigger something deep within you?

The Path of the Eclipse

A solar eclipse has a narrow path as it moves across the Earth, and astrologers feel that where that path is has significance of its own. (The path is created by the moon’s shadow as it races across the Earth, an inspiring image to behold itself.)

This eclipse crosses directly over Easter Island. The chances of this are truly astronomical! I can’t help but revel in the fact that the secrets these ancient standing stones hold may be activated in the collective psyche in some way. Perhaps they hold keys to our own origin and even destiny?

The Influence of the Lunar Nodes
All eclipses are aligned with either the North or the South node. The North Node is considered to be where we are heading and the South Node where we have come from. This Eclipse is aligned with, or conjunct, the South Node, representing the past in some way. This suggests that indeed it could be bringing to our awareness, out of our deep memory (Cancer does rule our memories), our ancient past and original purpose.

So is this Eclipse an opening to us consciously remembering our true purpose for being alive at this time? Could it be a call from our ancient past to our present to wake up and remember who we are? Surely there be openings during this time allowing greater unification with our Higher Self.

The essence of what I am saying is this…
The energies of this Solar Eclipse and the other Cardinal influences occurring now are designed to activate our ancient memories so that we can see and know that our true destiny is to be here now, in our bodies, on the Earth at this powerful time of accelerated planetary change and Soul evolution.

This activation will decrease the resistance of our egos, which will assist us to align our lower will with our higher will, plus bring us the insights needed to move our life onto new, Soul-directed paths.

The Great Work to be done on our planet at this time is daunting
if we are not aware of and able to utilize the power and resources our Soul brings us.
We are not doing this alone…to do so is exhausting indeed.

What a privilege to be here, incarnated, at this time. The words of my Grandfather have more meaning to me now than ever. To open to this energy, start by simply being in awe at the wonder of it all.
