1. Is a Tarot reading an effective tool if done over the phone?

Yes, I find that it is. To do this, I ask you to tune into the cards at an energetic level while I shuffle. I then proceed to lay out the cards. I will send you a form with the layout when I send you your tape. I have done many readings this way and find it to be very informative.

images_2_2_2_2_2_22. Can I receive a Tarot reading from you without getting an Astrology reading?

Absolutely. In fact, I have some clients who prefer just the Tarot. This is fine. My feeling is that whatever is more helpful and comfortable for you is fine. If you are needing some in depth information at an important time of your life, getting both an Astrological and Tarot reading can offer tremendous insight into the issues and time at hand. NOTE: If you do want to receive both of these readings, I generally recommend that they be done a few days apart so that you can take in the information better.

3.  What is a Tarot Celtic Cross layout?

The Celtic Cross format is perhaps the best know layout for using the Tarot. You can find lots of information about it here: Readings Offered.
You can download and print a free PDF of a Celtic Cross Tarot layout here.

4. Please explain the structure of a Tarot deck.

5. Can the Tarot be helpful in better understanding the dynamics in my relationship?

Very much so. It can give insights into any specific area of your life. Some questions I often use with regards to relationships are:

  • What is the energy around your relationship at this time?
  • What are you overlooking with regard to your relationship at this time?
  • What is her/his attitude about your relationship at this time?
  • What is blocking your communicating (joy, friendship, supporting each other, etc.) at this time?
  • How can you best serve your relationship at this time?

There are many other ways to word such questions to glean insight from the Tarot. This can also be about other issues besides relationships such as getting a job, going on a trip or retreat, buying a house, etc.

6.  I do not have an accurate time of birth and have been wanting to get a reading.Lovers-AQU
Would a Tarot reading work for me?

Absolutely. In fact, it is a perfect answer for those who cannot obtain their birth time. To do a Tarot reading, I do not need your time of birth. However, I may go ahead and run your chart, with or without an accurate time of birth, to see what Astrologically is reflected in the Tarot regarding the energies impacting you are this time. This gives me additional information to give you.

Empress-HR7.  Are there crossovers between the Tarot and Astrology? Are they compatible systems.

Yes, there are crossovers and yes they are certainly compatible. Many of the Tarot cards have an Astrological counterpart. Because I have an understanding of both systems, you will be able to receive a more thorough understanding yourself of the energies that are impacting you at this time.

8.  How often do you recommend I get a Tarot reading?

Here are some guidelines that I suggest for getting a Tarot reading:

For Celtic Cross readings:

  • Four times a year, at the beginning of each season (Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter) to give you information about that coming time in your life.
  • Twice a year, and also best if done in alignment with the seasons (Spring/Fall or Summer/Winter).
  • On or near your birthday-your personal New Year.
  • On or near the beginning of the calendar year.
  • You can download and then print a free PDF of a Celtic Cross Tarot layout here

For Issue readings:

An issue reading is just that, for a specific issue that is up for you, so the possibilities are endless. Some ideas are:Knight of Rods-HR

  • For better understanding the current dynamics of a relationship, as stated above.
  • For better understanding the current dynamics of a business or work situation.
  • For getting insight into your path at that time.
  • For information about how to handle a particular situation in your life, such as how to better understand someone you are having difficulty with or a child who cannot really explain themselves.
  • In general, for any situation that you would like to better understand the dynamics of and would like to get additional insight about .

9. How do I use the Tarot as a daily oracle?

You can easily pull Tarot cards each day (or week) to guide you. Below is one way to do this.

A way for you to become familiar with the Tarot is to pull five cards daily to represent the day ahead. Here are the instructions:

  • Sit quietly at the beginning of the day with your deck.
  • Shuffle as you focus on the coming day (or week).
  • Fan our your deck, holding it in your right hand (opposite for you lefties).
  • With your left (or right) hand, pull a card that represents your highest focus for the day.
  • Then, pull four more cards, one for how your body, mind, spirit and emotional self will support that focus.

I suggest that at either the end of the day or the beginning of the next when you do that day’s readings, you write some brief comments about what happened that day. If you want to, you can have a Tarot book at hand and read what each of the cards means; however, you may also use your own knowledge of symbols, as they are Universal in nature, or your own intuition as to their meaning.

Over time, you will see patterns develop that can be very helpful in gleaning information about yourself and what is going on at the subtler aspects of your being. This is, in fact, one of the best ways to use the Tarot for it is a perfect tool for bringing aspects of Self to our conscious awareness.

NOTE: two things about the above reading. One is that you could do this weekly rather than daily if you prefer. It is suggested to pull the cards on the same day each week. Next, while I say to hold the cards, fanned out, in your right hand and choose with your left, this would be the opposite for you lefties.
