If you simply must sign that contract (or…) while Mercury is Retrograde

Astrologers will give you a long list of things “not to do” while Mercury is retrograde, such as:

  • Sign important contracts.
  • Make major purchases.
  • Make long-term agreements~verbal or written.
  • Apply for a job.
  • Initiate contact to a new client, make a new proposal, etc.
  • Start a significant project or venture.

Well, this is just not always possible, is it. So if you simply must do something along these lines during the time that Mercury is retrograde, here are some questions to ask yourself, and some guidelines:

  • Did you consider this option/purchase/contract/venture prior to Mercury turning retro? If so, it makes it more “ok” to continue or even complete the process during the retro period (4/17 – 5/12).
  • Is the thing you are considering on impulse? If so, you should probably give it a few days and/or even wait until Mercury is direct before deciding or pursuing.
  • Is this a long-term thing? Such as a 5 year contract? Or is it something that doesn’t likely have long-term consequences. The longer your decision will have an impact on your life,  the more you should consider holding off until Mercury is direct.
  • Mercury is retro in the sign of Taurus, which brings up its own issues. Is this about money? Something you absolutely Love and must have? Is it practical and usable? If any of these are true, and you have given amble consideration to whatever it is, then do consider going for it.

Here are some general guidelines:

  • Use common sense and be practical. Mercury in Taurus, whether retrograde of not, works best if you do these simple things.
  • Wait a day or two. Still sound good? Then perhaps you should do “it”.
  • Would you miss out on whatever it is if you waited until Mercury goes direct on May 11-12? And it is really “right” for you? Again, use common sense and don’t miss out. Go for it.
  • DO NOT assume you understand xxx. Check and re-check the fine print and terms. Ask questions until you are clear on the conditions of the purchase, contract, etc.

And remember, if whatever it is you are considering doing or not doing, it is still preferable to wait until Mercury is direct. But as I said at the beginning, that is just not always possible.

I hope these guidelines help.
